Niigata Bandaijima Art Museum

The Niigata Bandaijima Art Museum occupies the fifth floor of Toki Messe building, presenting rotating exhibitions of contemporary art from Japan and international artists.

The museum began operations in July 2003 as an extension of the Niigata Prefectural Museum of Modern Art, expanding the cultural offerings in the region.

The museum maintains strong connections with artists from neighboring countries, regularly featuring works from Korea, China, and the Russian Far East in its exhibitions.

Visitors can reach the museum via a 25-minute walk from Niigata Station or take the Number 3 bus to the Sado-Kisen terminal stop.

The museum specializes in collecting art created after 1945, with particular emphasis on supporting artists who maintain connections to Niigata Prefecture.
