Eigeki Daiyo

Eigeki Daiyo was a movie theater in Niigata's Chuo-ku district that occupied a central location and spread across multiple floors. The facility featured a substantial number of seats and maintained extended daily operating hours to serve visitors.

The cinema opened in 1962 and had roots in earlier establishments that operated under different names. It remained an entertainment venue in the city until closing in 2019.

The cinema maintained 450 seats and operated extensive hours from 9:30 AM to 6:30 AM the following day, serving as a central entertainment venue in Niigata.

The location was accessible by the Nishihori and Port Circuit rail lines, with nearby stations within walking distance. Visitors should note that the facility spread across multiple levels, so allow time for orientation when arriving.

After another theater in the prefecture closed in 2009, this venue remained the last of its kind in the region for a decade. It marked the end of a long era of entertainment venues in this specific category.
