Parsa National Park, Wildlife reserve in Madhesh Province, Nepal
The reserve spans 627 square kilometers across the Terai lowlands, with sal forests covering 90 percent of the terrain between 435 and 950 meters elevation.
The territory transformed from a private hunting ground for British and Nepalese aristocrats into a wildlife reserve in 1984, obtaining national park status in 2017.
The Kailas Bhata hill contains two Hindu temples dedicated to Shiva and Parbati, allowing visitors to observe religious practices within the natural environment.
A four-room guesthouse and teahouse provide accommodations near the park headquarters, with an observation tower for monitoring wildlife movements.
The reserve forms part of a transnational protected zone of 3,549 square kilometers connecting with Chitwan National Park and India's Valmiki Tiger Reserve.
