Вороний Камень, Berg in Russland
Voroniy Kamen is a cluster of granite rock formations located on the southeastern shore of Verkh-Neyvinsky Reservoir in Sverdlovsk Oblast. The rocks rise to about 15 meters and stretch southwest to northeast, displaying unusual jagged shapes that look different from various viewing angles.
The rocks lie along an old road that witnessed combat during the Russian Civil War in January 1918. A memorial cross at the site commemorates those events and preserves the memory of this turbulent period in regional history.
The site takes its name from the abundance of ravens historically found here. Local residents use the rocks as a place to escape city life and experience forest quietness surrounded by birch woodland.
Access to the rocks is via an old forest road starting from Verkh-Neyvinsky village that requires sturdy footwear or a four-wheel-drive vehicle to reach. The route passes through dense birch forest marked with trail ribbons, so it is wise to carry a map and wear proper hiking boots.
Despite its proximity to popular hiking destinations, this spot receives few visitors and remains free of graffiti and litter. The unusual stone shapes appear like granite giants standing side by side in the quiet forest.
