11th Kamennoostrovsky Bridge, Steel bridge over Malaya Nevka River in Saint Petersburg, Russia

The 11th Kamennoostrovsky Bridge is a steel bridge with five spans crossing the Malaya Nevka, linking Aptekarskiy Island and Kamenniy Island. The structure is supported by reinforced concrete piers clad in granite blocks.

The original structure at this location was built in 1760 as a pontoon bridge, later replaced by a wooden construction with seven spans in the 19th century. The current steel bridge resulted from modernizing these earlier structures.

The bridge features decorative obelisks and street lamps that reflect classical Saint Petersburg architecture. These ornamental details shape the appearance of the northern districts.

The bridge is open year-round for vehicle and pedestrian traffic, providing continuous access between the northern districts. Consider exploring alternative routes if needed, as this crossing is the primary link between these islands.

The central section contains an inactive draw span mechanism, showing historical engineering for river navigation. This defunct mechanism can be viewed from different angles while crossing the bridge.
