Qanun Palace stands as a defensive structure built with mud, straw, and gypsum, featuring internal corridors and multiple chambers for different functions.

The castle was constructed in 1737 by Salama bin Zaidan bin Abdullah bin Salama Al-Muhaisen Al-Rabie Al-Abdi Al-Shamri.

The architectural design incorporates traditional Najd region building techniques with decorative interior patterns and specific spaces for wedding ceremonies.

The building materials and construction methods create natural temperature control, maintaining warmth during winter and coolness in summer months.

The palace includes a dedicated guest wing where newly married couples traditionally stayed for an entire year after their wedding.
