King Abdullah Sport City Stadium, Sports stadium in Buraidah, Saudi Arabia
King Abdullah Sport City Stadium is a football stadium in Bur, a district of Buraidah, Saudi Arabia, with a capacity of around 25,000 seats. The pitch is natural grass and the stands wrap around the field, offering clear views from most sections.
The stadium was built in 1982 and officially opened in 1983, becoming one of the first large sports venues in the Al-Qassim province. It was later named after the former Saudi king Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
The stadium is home to two local football clubs, Al Taawoun FC and Al Raed FC, both of which compete in the Saudi professional league. On match days, fans from across the Al-Qassim region fill the seats, giving the ground a strong local identity.
The stadium sits along the main roads of Buraidah and is straightforward to reach by car or local transport. On match days it is worth arriving early, as parking spots near the venue fill up quickly.
The very first goal scored in this stadium was an own goal, during the opening match between Al Taawoun FC and Al-Tai. That first game ended 1-1, giving the venue a slightly unusual start to its history.
