Jubilee Bridge, Pedestrian bridge in Marina Bay, Singapore
The Jubilee Bridge is a pedestrian bridge over the Singapore River in Marina Bay, connecting Merlion Park to the waterfront promenade. This 220-meter structure provides separate cycling and walking paths, seating areas, and landscaped sections for visitors to move comfortably across the water.
Former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew launched the project in 2004 after recognizing the need for better pedestrian access across the Singapore River at Marina Bay. The construction addressed this gap by creating a new connection between key waterfront areas.
The bridge forms part of the Jubilee Walk, an 8-kilometer route linking sites that show Singapore's growth over time. Locals and visitors use it as a popular walking path with views across the water and city landmarks.
The 6-meter wide bridge is flat and easy to walk across, with clear separation between cycling and pedestrian areas. Visitors should come early in the morning or late afternoon when it is less crowded.
The structure uses a balanced cantilever design with its longest span reaching 95 meters, allowing unobstructed views across Marina Bay. This engineering approach means visitors enjoy clear sightlines to major city landmarks while crossing.
