Talazan Köprüsü, Medieval bridge in Tokat province, Turkey.
Talazan Köprüsü is a stone bridge that crosses the Kelkit River in Tokat province. It features eight arches spanning the waterway, with heavy structures on its upstream side to break the current.
This crossing was built during the 13th century Seljuk period. In 1942, a section collapsed and was later rebuilt with modern support structures.
The structure connects the valley with surrounding villages and serves as a daily crossing for local people and vehicles. Farmers and residents rely on it to move between settlements and access the wider region.
The bridge sits close to the main E80 highway and is accessible by vehicle. Following comprehensive repairs, it is in good condition and can be crossed without difficulty.
The central main arch sits slightly off-center, while the surrounding arches are distributed unevenly across the span. This unusual arrangement allows the bridge to work with the river's forces rather than resist them head-on.
