Tory's Falls

Tory's Falls is a waterfall in Hanging Rock State Park that plunges over dark rock faces in a wooded setting. Water flows down through a forest gorge, creating a vertical formation surrounded by trees and stone cliffs.

The waterfall takes its name from Tory's Den, a nearby cave that sheltered British loyalists during the American Revolution. This historical refuge shaped the place's identity.

This natural formation draws photographers and nature enthusiasts who document the seasonal changes in water flow throughout the year.

A moderate forest trail of about 300 yards from the Charlie Young Road parking area leads to the waterfall viewpoint. The path offers shaded walking beneath trees as you ascend to the viewing spot.

Water volume changes dramatically with seasons and rainfall, ranging from strong flows after storms to thin streams during dry spells. This variation makes each visit a different visual experience.
