Holy Cross Church and Convent, Roman Catholic church complex in Scott, Wisconsin, US.
Holy Cross Church and Convent is a complex of six buildings constructed between 1862 and 1932, displaying Renaissance Revival architecture throughout. The structures feature brown brick walls with square towers and were designed to serve various functions for the parish community.
The parish began in 1834 when Father Van den Broek established a chapel in Bay Settlement. The current site was developed after Father Edward Daems acquired the property in 1852.
The church serves as a community gathering place where Catholic traditions have been practiced for generations. Walking through it, you notice how the interior spaces are arranged to support worship and congregation life.
The site is located on Bay Settlement Road and is easily accessible from the main road. The buildings stand in an open setting, allowing visitors to view the complex from the outside and explore the architectural details.
The rectory built in 1862 was constructed using local limestone and displays Italianate design features. The adjacent laundry building from 1870 contains a distinctive round window that adds character to the complex.
