Overton Lodge, Masonic lodge in Rogersville Historic District, Tennessee, US
The Overton Lodge operates from a Federal-style neoclassical structure that previously functioned as the Bank of Tennessee building, constructed around 1840.
Founded on December 14, 1805, the lodge was named after John Overton, a Tennessee Supreme Court justice who worked alongside Andrew Jackson.
Members of the Overton Lodge gather regularly to conduct Masonic ceremonies and participate in charitable activities that support the local community.
Located at 103 East Main Street on Courthouse Square, the lodge maintains its presence as Number 5 in the Grand Lodge of Tennessee.
This lodge holds the distinction of continuous operation through the Civil War period when numerous other Masonic institutions suspended their activities.
