St. Patrick's Pro-Cathedral, Gothic Revival Catholic church in downtown Newark, United States.

St. Patrick's Pro-Cathedral features a 150-foot central tower with copper spire and red brick construction that defines its architectural presence in Newark.

The church began serving as the seat of its prelate bishop in 1853, maintaining this role until the completion of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

The cathedral maintains connections to Irish heritage through events like the Easter Sunday 12:15 liturgy commemorating the 1916 Easter Rising in Dublin.

The building provides regular religious services for both local downtown Newark residents and commuters who work in the surrounding business district.

Following the first episcopal welcome mass, Rector Bernard McQuaid had to sell his horse and carriage to cover the expenses of hosting diocesan clergy.
