Safe Harbor Bridge, Railway bridge in Conestoga Township, Pennsylvania, United States.
Safe Harbor Bridge is a railway bridge spanning the Conestoga River with a steel truss structure featuring two decks. The structure reaches about 92 feet (28 meters) in height between its main spans.
The bridge was built in 1905 by H.S. Kerbaugh Inc. and was modified in 1930 when its lower level was raised to allow for Safe Harbor Dam construction.
The bridge shows how railways shaped the landscape and connected people across the region. It stands as a reminder of the industrial forces that transformed this area in the early 1900s.
The upper deck of the structure is now part of the Enola Low Grade Trail and can be crossed on foot. The trail provides safe pedestrian access across the river and through the surrounding landscape.
Six glass panels are set into the walkway floor, allowing visitors to look straight down at the river below. These transparent sections create an unforgettable moment as people walk directly over the water.
