Norman Wood Bridge, Road bridge in Holtwood, Pennsylvania, US
Norman Wood Bridge is a steel truss bridge that crosses the Susquehanna River and connects Lancaster County with York County. It carries Pennsylvania Route 372 and serves as an important passage between these two regions.
The bridge opened in 1968 after two years of construction. It was named after a Pennsylvania House of Representatives member who had strong ties to the local area.
The structure connects communities near McCalls Ferry Farm and State Game Lands, where residents engage in agriculture, hunting, and outdoor activities.
The bridge underwent repairs in 2015 after a crack was found in the steel girders and it was temporarily closed. After restoration work was completed, it was returned to regular use.
Norman Wood, the bridge's namesake, graduated from Penn State with an agriculture degree and represented Fulton Township in state politics for 42 years.
