Colemanville Covered Bridge

Colemanville Covered Bridge crosses Pequea Creek with a wooden double Burr arch truss design, painted red with white trim. Steel hanger rods reinforce the structure across its single span.

The bridge was built in 1856 as part of the region's transportation network. In 1992 it was raised and moved west to protect against flooding.

The bridge represents Pennsylvania's transportation heritage and belongs to numerous wooden structures that demonstrate 19th-century engineering methods across Lancaster County. It remains part of local travel routes where such crossings once served as essential community connectors.

The bridge is located south of Pennsylvania Route 324 and sees regular vehicle traffic. Visitors should proceed carefully, especially during wet or slippery conditions.

It ranks among the longest single-span wooden covered bridges still operating in Lancaster County today. The blend of traditional design with modern reinforcements makes it a notable survivor.
