The state park extends over 107 acres along Lake Erie, featuring a mile-long natural sand beach with dunes and wetland boardwalks.
The location functioned as a recreational resort in the late 1800s, complete with hotels, restaurants, and entertainment facilities served by trains and steamships.
The park transitions from dense woodland areas through wetlands to beach zones, representing the natural ecosystems of Lake Erie's eastern shore.
Swimming hours operate from mid-May through Labor Day between 11 AM and 6:45 PM, with vehicle entry fees of 7 dollars until 6 PM.
The park contains one of the remaining natural freshwater sand dune systems along Lake Erie's shoreline, supporting multiple wildlife habitats.
