Cazenovia Park-South Park System

Cazenovia Park-South Park System is a network of interconnected green spaces in Buffalo featuring Cazenovia Creek running through the landscape. The main park covers approximately 83 acres and includes sports fields, tennis courts, a golf course, swimming pools, and walking trails.

Frederick Law Olmsted designed this park network between 1892 and 1894, adapting urban planning ideas from Paris for Buffalo's landscape. The project represented a major effort to create modern green spaces for the growing city.

The botanical gardens attract visitors interested in learning about plants from around the world through their conservatory collections. People spend time wandering through the greenhouse spaces to see how different plant species grow and thrive together.

The park system offers visitors multiple routes to explore, with most areas open to the public and connected by walkways. You can move easily between different zones depending on which activities or facilities interest you, whether sports fields, gardens, or water features.

The Cazenovia Park Casino, built in 1912 by architects Esenwein and Johnson, stands as a distinctive building within the grounds. The structure displays architectural details from that era and serves as a notable focal point for visitors exploring the park.
