Mayfield Downtown Commercial District is a historic area in the center of Mayfield that spreads between North, Water, 5th, and 9th Streets. The buildings show different architectural styles including Late Victorian, Classical Revival, and Prairie School design.
The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, with a boundary expansion in 1996 that included 21 more buildings. This showed how this area remained important to the city across different periods.
