The station represents the expansion of automobile transportation in the United States during the early twentieth century commercial development.
Following extensive renovations in 2009, the former filling station now serves as public restrooms for visitors to the adjacent Circus Square Park.
The restoration included new Red Crown Gasoline globes, funded through local preservation efforts to maintain the historical authenticity of the structure.
