Copperhead Strike, Steel roller coaster in Carowinds, United States.
Copperhead Strike is a steel roller coaster at Carowinds amusement park near Charlotte, built on a compact footprint with tightly packed curves. The track crosses over and under itself multiple times before finishing with a loop near ground level.
The coaster opened in March 2019 and was the first ride with two launches and five inversions at the park. It replaced a former water ride in the Countyfair area.
The name comes from the copperhead snake native to forests around the park. Scales and colors of the snake appear on the trains and throughout the queue decoration.
The queue winds through a building with farmhouse elements before reaching the boarding platform. Height requirements are posted at the entrance, and loose items must go in lockers before boarding.
The ride features a jojo roll after the first launch where riders are twisted sideways and upside down. The train pauses briefly before the second launch and accelerates backward before continuing forward.
