Bust of Christopher Columbus, Bronze sculpture near Jefferson Avenue, Detroit, United States.
The bronze bust of Christopher Columbus stands on a marble pedestal decorated with two ship prows at Jefferson Avenue and Randolph Street.
Italian sculptor Augusto Rivalta created this monument in 1910 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's death.
The monument resulted from donations by readers of La Tribuna Italiana d'America newspaper, reflecting the influence of Detroit's Italian community.
Visitors can find the sculpture at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Randolph Street, near the entrance of the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel.
