Higbee Beach Wildlife Management Area, Wildlife management area in Lower Township, New Jersey, US

Higbee Beach is a wildlife management area covering about 1,159 acres along Delaware Bay, containing beaches, dunes, wetlands, and woodlands in various zones. The site spans roughly a mile and a half of shoreline with multiple habitat types within close reach.

The land once held a tavern built in 1807 at New England Creek, which was later purchased by Joseph Higbee who set up a passenger landing from Philadelphia. This early commercial use shaped how the location developed over time.

This area serves as a key observation point for North American bird migrations, with many watchers visiting during spring and fall movements along the bay. The site has become a gathering place for people interested in watching seasonal bird activity.

The area provides two miles of nature trails and viewing platforms for accessing the site comfortably. Dogs are allowed between September and April, with restrictions outside those months.

The property is divided into six separate zones named Signal Hill, Davey's Lake, Pond Creek, Sassafras Island, Hidden Valley, and the former Magnesite Plant area. Each zone offers distinct landscapes and viewing opportunities for visitors exploring the site.
