Hidden Falls

Hidden Falls is a waterfall in Grand Teton National Park where water drops through rocky tiers into Jenny Lake below. The cascade splits into several streams as it descends the stone layers.

The waterfall sits in a region used by local tribes for hunting and gathering for many generations before the park was established. Modern hiking trails connecting to this spot were developed in the 1930s.

The waterfall became a central feature of Grand Teton National Park's recreational offerings after the construction of hiking trails in the 1930s.

You can reach this waterfall by walking about 1 mile from the boat dock or taking a longer hike of about 5 miles round trip from the southern lake area. The path is well marked, but some sections can be muddy or slippery especially after rain or during snowmelt season.

The water volume here changes greatly with the seasons and flows most powerfully in late spring and early summer when mountain snows melt. These shifts in flow create noticeably different scenes at the same location throughout the year.
