Field of Screams, Horror theme park in Mountville, United States
Field of Screams is a seasonal horror park built on a former farm in Mountville, Pennsylvania, with several separate scare attractions spread across the property. These include a haunted hayride, haunted houses, and wooded walking paths designed to frighten visitors in different ways.
Two brothers opened the park in 1993 by converting their family farm into a horror attraction, starting with just a few experiences. Over the following decades, the property grew steadily as new attractions were added one by one.
Each fall, groups of friends and families from across the region make a point of visiting together, turning the trip into a shared tradition. The attractions are designed so visitors move through them on foot, making the experience feel personal rather than passive.
The park is open only during fall, so planning ahead is a good idea, especially on weekends when lines can be long. Most of the attractions are outdoors on uneven ground, so sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing make a real difference.
One special event uses a real Tesla coil that produces loud electrical discharges and sparks as part of the scare experience. This event is intended for adults and is considered far more intense than the rest of the park's offerings.
