Lakenenland, Sculpture garden near Marquette, Michigan, US.
Lakenenland is a sculpture garden featuring more than 100 metal artworks made from recycled scrap materials along a woodland trail. The park spans about 37 acres and blends artistic installations with the natural forest environment.
Tom Lakenen started building this collection about 25 years ago, transforming industrial waste into an outdoor exhibition. His long-term commitment created a public space where recycling and artistic creativity come together.
The sculptures reflect how industrial scrap has been transformed into creative expression, with each piece showing the connection between craftsmanship and artistic vision. Visitors experience this blend of practicality and imagination directly as they walk through the wooded setting and encounter the works in nature.
The garden is located roughly 15 miles east of Marquette on Highway M-28 and remains open year-round with no admission fees. The woodland trail is explored on foot, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended as the path covers natural terrain.
Beyond the sculptures, the grounds feature two performance stages, fishing ponds, and a timber pavilion with a fireplace. These additional amenities transform the space into more than just an outdoor art gallery.
