University Museum of Navarra, Art museum at University of Navarre campus, Pamplona, Spain
The University Museum of Navarra is a contemporary art museum on the campus of the University of Navarre in Pamplona, housing paintings, sculptures, and photographs from the 20th and 21st centuries. The building, designed by Rafael Moneo, sits across three levels fitted into a natural hollow between two hills on the campus grounds.
The museum opened in 2015, sparked by a donation of nearly 50 works made to the university in 2008. That first gift set the direction of the collection and led the university to build a dedicated space for it.
The museum takes its name from a local benefactor whose donation shaped its identity from the start. Today it serves as a meeting point for students, faculty, and visitors from the city, all sharing the same spaces and looking at the same works.
The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday with both a morning and an afternoon session each day. It sits on the university campus, so it is easy to reach on foot and can be combined with a walk around the grounds.
The museum runs a residency program called Tender Puentes that brings together artists working in dance, theater, and music under one project. These partnerships are built directly with different university departments, giving the museum an active role in the daily life of the campus.
