Cocola Avenue, Shopping complex at Toyohashi Station, Japan
Cocola Avenue is a shopping center on the third floor of Saala Tower near Toyohashi Station, featuring retail shops and dining venues. The complex brings together stores and restaurants in a compact space right at the transportation hub.
The complex opened in August 2008 as part of a major development project that reshaped the Toyohashi station area. This marked an important step in modernizing the city center with new retail and service infrastructure.
The name Cocola comes from Japanese words expressing the idea of enjoying activities with complete focus. This naming reflects how the venue is intended: as a space where visitors take time to shop and dine without rushing.
The complex connects directly to Toyohashi Station, with just a one-minute walk from both JR and Meitetsu railway platforms. This central location makes it easy to visit shops and restaurants when arriving or departing.
The Saala Tower building houses not just the shopping center but also the Arukurisshu Hotel in its upper floors. This mixed-use approach combining hotels, offices, and retail in one structure is typical of modern Japanese station developments.
