Kuwana City Museum, Public museum in Kuwana, Japan
The Kuwana City Museum is a public building dedicated to the history, culture, nature, and technology of Mie Prefecture. It houses four exhibition areas that explore different aspects of the region.
The museum was founded in 1971 as the first municipal art museum in Mie Prefecture. In 1985 it was restructured and converted into a general museum to accommodate new collections and meet building maintenance needs.
The museum displays traditional chirimen textiles and furniture from the Edo period, showing how people in Kuwana once lived and furnished their homes. These objects give a sense of daily life as it was in this region.
The museum is about a seven-minute walk from Kuwana Station on the Kintetsu Nagoya Line. It opens from morning until early evening and offers straightforward access from the station.
One exhibition section focuses on maritime crane manufacturing and motorsports from the Suzuka Circuit, showcasing local industrial achievements. This area offers insight into the technical innovations that shaped Kuwana and its surroundings.
