Green Dragon, Wooden roller coaster at Lake Compounce in Bristol, Connecticut.
The Green Dragon featured a traditional out-and-back layout with a chain lift system and multiple dips along its wooden track construction.
Opening in 1914, this roller coaster marked a milestone as the first electrically powered attraction at Lake Compounce until its closure in 1926.
The Green Dragon represented the evolution of early 20th-century entertainment technology at Lake Compounce, the oldest operating amusement park in America.
The coaster design by Bowen and Moore incorporated basic safety features and excluded inversions, making it accessible for most visitors.
Following the removal of Green Dragon in 1927, Lake Compounce installed a new roller coaster called Wildcat in its place.
