Zip, Wooden roller coaster at Oaks Amusement Park in Portland, United States.
The Zip roller coaster featured steel-framed wooden construction with undulating track elements and operated with 5-car trains along its course.
Built in 1927 by Harry Traver, the Zip roller coaster operated until 1934 when economic pressures and maintenance costs led to its closure.
The Zip represented a compact version of the Giant Cyclone Safety Coasters, which defined American amusement park entertainment in the 1920s.
The structure stood on a wooden deck foundation near the Willamette River, incorporating design modifications to prevent damage from potential flooding.
After its dismantling in 1934, the steel components of the Zip roller coaster were sold to Japan, while few photographs remain of this installation.
