Westmoreland Park, Urban park in southeast Portland, United States.
Westmoreland Park is a large recreational area in southeast Portland featuring baseball diamonds, tennis courts, basketball facilities, and picnic spaces for public use. The grounds also include a nature-based play area with water features and streams alongside a baseball stadium.
Portland acquired this land in 1936 from a steel manufacturing company that previously operated on the site. The initial facilities were built during the 1930s by workers in a federal employment program.
This space serves the neighborhood as a gathering place for sports enthusiasts and families who use the open fields regularly. An outdoor sculpture installation provides a focal point where people naturally pause and take in their surroundings.
The park is open daily from early morning until midnight and provides parking near the main entrances for visitors. Pathways are well maintained with benches throughout and restroom facilities positioned at convenient locations.
The area features an inventive play space that uses natural elements like water and streams instead of traditional playground equipment. This approach to unstructured play allows children to interact with their surroundings in their own way.
