Tideman Johnson Natural Area, Natural area in Southeast Portland, US
The park spans 7.59 acres along Johnson Creek, featuring both paved and unpaved paths through wetlands, forests, and stream corridors.
The Johnson family donated this land to Portland in 1940 after years of allowing public recreational activities on their property.
The natural area serves as an educational site with informational signs about local flora and fauna, promoting environmental awareness.
Visitors can access the main entrance at Southeast 37th Avenue and Tenino Street, where hiking trails connect to the Springwater Corridor.
A 2006 restoration project identified 22 fish species in the creek, including 23 Chinook salmon and 107 steelhead trout.
