La Corniche is a viewpoint positioned at the foot of Dune du Pilat, offering views across Arcachon Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. From this elevated spot, you can see the water and the surrounding coastline stretching in different directions.
The site began as a hunting lodge built during the 1930s before undergoing major redesign work in the early 2010s. This renovation brought new structures and changed how the space functions for visitors today.
The observation point represents the connection between land and sea, where visitors can observe traditional oyster farming activities in Arcachon Bay.
This viewpoint has parking available and stairs leading down to the beach. You can visit on most days, though it's good to check opening times before your trip.
From this viewpoint you can see Banc d'Arguin, a sandbank created where ocean currents meet and collide. This formation shifts and changes constantly, looking different with each visit.
