Description
Sakouli Beach is a sand beach in southeastern Mayotte that stretches for about 600 meters along dark-colored shoreline. Tall baobab trees line the edge and the beach faces the nearby Bandrele Island across the water.
History
The beach remained mostly untouched until 1997, when development projects started to accommodate increasing numbers of visitors. This turning point marked the beginning of gradual change in how the place was used and accessed.
