Mtsanga Saziley

Mtsanga Saziley is a white sand beach on the southern coast of Mayotte, lined with baobab trees and native vegetation. The shoreline borders shallow, clear water along a sheltered bay.

The beach became part of the Mayotte Marine Natural Park in 2010, designating it within a wider protected marine area. This action recognized the ecological value of the coastal zone.

The beach is a gathering place where local fishing traditions remain part of daily life. Simple shelters by the water reflect how island residents maintain their connection to the sea.

The beach is accessible by foot along a marked trail from M'tsamoudou village or by boat. Bring plenty of water and watch the tides, as they affect swimming conditions throughout the day.

The beach serves as a nesting ground where sea turtles come ashore at night to lay eggs in the sand. Special observation areas allow visitors to witness this rare natural event from a safe distance.
