Parc marin de Saziley

Saziley Marine Park lies between the southern tip of Grande-Terre and a white sand islet in the Indian Ocean. The area spans several kilometers and includes multiple coves with varying water depths.

The park gained protected status in 1991 through a prefectural decree in Mayotte. This designation was essential to preserve the region's marine resources and wildlife.

The beaches here serve as nesting grounds where sea turtles return to lay eggs each season. Local fishing communities continue their traditional ways of working the waters.

The area is accessible from several points and welcomes different marine activities. Before visiting, check local rules and any seasonal restrictions that may apply.

The waters shelter rare species like dugongs and serve as a stopover for migrating whales and dolphins. These larger marine residents make the area a special place for observation.
