Dunn's Falls, 65-foot waterfall in Enterprise, United States.
Dunn's Falls is a waterfall in western Mississippi where water from the Chunky River drops about 65 feet down a steep rock face, surrounded by thick forest. An old mill with a water wheel stands beside the waterfall, showing how people once used the falling water to power machinery.
An Irish immigrant named John Dunn redirected the river in the 1850s to power a cotton mill. This location became part of the industrial changes that transformed the valley during that era.
The place served as a working center where water power sustained the community for generations. Local families relied on this flow of water to operate mills that provided jobs and goods for the surrounding area.
Access is via a paved path through the forest that is fairly easy to walk. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes since the ground can be wet and slippery, especially after rain.
The mill next to the waterfall was not built here but came from Georgia and was moved here in the 1980s. It remains one of Mississippi's tallest water drops.
