The Meridian City Hall stands as a three-story Beaux-Arts municipal building with classical elements, symmetrical design, and ornate architectural details throughout its structure.
Built in 1914 by architect P.J. Krouse, this government building replaced an earlier structure from 1885 and underwent extensive renovation between 2006 and 2012.
The building represents the early 20th-century civic pride through its architectural grandeur and continues to serve as a center for local government activities.
Located at 601 24th Avenue, the city hall houses various municipal departments, including Human Resources and Information Technology, with the mayor's office on the second floor.
The 2006-2012 restoration project, which cost approximately 25 million dollars, earned the Masonry Construction Online Project of the Year Award in 2009.
