Mirador del Sol

Mirador del Sol is an observation point at 1,439 meters (4,721 ft) elevation on the western slope of the Comechingones Mountains, offering views across valleys and ridges. The site features open areas and vantage points arranged to let visitors take in the landscape from different angles.

This location became a formal tourist destination after Route 5 was built to connect Villa de Merlo with regional attractions. The road connection made the hilltop accessible to visitors and helped establish the viewpoint as an important landmark for the area.

The name means "Sun Viewing" and reflects how locals use this spot for celebrations and gatherings where regional folk songs echo across the hillside. Visitors can sense the connection between the landscape and the community that gathers here to share traditions throughout the year.

Visitors reach the site via Route 5 beyond El Molino stream, where parking areas and information signs are available. It is advisable to arrive early in the day, especially if you prefer the clearest views and fewer crowds.

The location serves as a launch point for paragliding, allowing people to soar above the Comechingones valley from this hilltop. This activity draws adventure seekers and provides a completely different way to experience the mountain range.
