Fervedouro do Ceiça, Natural spring in Mateiros, Brazil

Fervedouro do Ceiça is a natural spring in Jalapão State Park where clear water continuously rises from underground aquifers into a pool with a white sandy bottom. The spring is surrounded by vegetation and has a maximum capacity of six visitors at a time to protect the environment.

The spring was formed through karst processes where underground erosion of limestone gradually created water channels over thousands of years. This ongoing geological activity continues to sustain the water flow that emerges today.

Local communities in Jalapão incorporate the spring into their daily lives, maintaining traditional practices of environmental conservation through controlled visitor numbers.

Reaching this site requires a four-wheel-drive vehicle and travel over rough tracks through the region. Bring plenty of water and sun protection, as the area offers little shade during the day.

The continuous upward flow of water creates a natural buoyancy effect that makes swimmers float effortlessly without any movement. This physical phenomenon makes swimming here feel quite different from ordinary pools.
