The Lajeado State Park contains 9,931 hectares of protected natural environment with rolling hills, riverbanks, and densely vegetated areas of the Cerrado biome.
The Brazilian government established Lajeado State Park in 2001 through law 1224 to protect local fauna, flora, and natural resources in the Tocantins region.
The park hosts educational programs for visitors to learn about environmental conservation while observing 219 bird species, 41 mammal species, and 171 plant varieties.
Located 25 kilometers from Palmas via Rodovia TO-020, the park requires advance reservations and guided tours for hiking and nature observation activities.
The protected area contains natural springs, waterfalls, and cave paintings within its boundaries, representing the geological diversity of central Brazil.
