SkyBridge, Pedestrian suspension bridge in Krasnaya Polyana, Russia.
SkyBridge is a pedestrian suspension bridge in Krasnaya Polyana that stretches 439 meters (1440 feet) across the valley. The steel and concrete construction hovers 207 meters (679 feet) above the ground and features a walkway connecting the mountain slopes.
The bridge opened in 2014 following the Winter Olympics and was the first permanent structure of its kind in Russia. It emerged as part of the development of extreme sports offerings in the Sochi region.
Locals and travelers come here to experience the thrill of bungee jumping or simply enjoy the view. The bridge has become a social gathering spot where people often take photos and cheer on those brave enough to jump.
Access involves two observation platforms along the walkway, with the central one serving as the launch point for bungee activities. Mountain weather can change quickly, so visitors should bring warm clothing and sturdy footwear.
The construction uses eight cables measuring 52 millimeters (2 inches) in diameter connected by I-beams placed five meters (16 feet) apart. The walkway includes intentional step-downs that create a sense of movement when crossing.
