National Museum of Yemen

The National Museum of Yemen contains three main sections: pre-Islamic period, Islamic era, and traditional heritage, displaying artifacts across multiple exhibition halls.

Established in 1971 in Dar Al-Shukr palace near Bab Al-Sabah, the museum later relocated to the larger Dar Al-Saada building to accommodate growing collections.

The pre-Islamic section features seven halls dedicated to ancient kingdoms including Main, Hadramaut, and Saba, showcasing their distinct archaeological discoveries.

The museum underwent extensive restoration in 2000 and reopened in 2006 with additional rare artifacts and improved structural modifications for better visitor experience.

The Islamic era section houses manuscripts, weapons, and the Kiswah of Kaaba, while traditional heritage displays include silver jewelry and regional costumes.
