Soroa Waterfall, Natural waterfall in Candelaria, Cuba
The clear waters of Soroa Waterfall drop from a height of 22 meters into a natural swimming pool surrounded by tropical plants and dense forest.
The area gained its name from Spanish brothers Lorenzo and Antonio Soroa Muñagorri, who established coffee plantations in this region during 1856.
Local residents maintain traditional practices by offering guided tours that explain the natural medicinal properties of plants found along the hiking trails.
Visitors can access the waterfall through a network of maintained paths, with entrance fees including access to changing facilities and rest areas.
The waterfall forms part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, containing over 20,000 orchid specimens and numerous endemic bird species.
