Eko Hotels & Suites, Five-star hotel in Victoria Island, Nigeria
Eko Hotels & Suites comprises four buildings with 825 rooms positioned between the Atlantic Ocean and Kuramo Lagoon on Victoria Island in Lagos. The property features a convention centre with capacity for 6,000 people, along with multiple pools and recreational facilities spread across the grounds.
The hotel was established in 1977 as Èkó Holiday Inn through a collaboration between Nigerian architect Oluwole Olumuyiwa and American designers. This marked a turning point for Nigeria's hotel industry, creating what was then the country's largest hospitality complex.
The hotel operates eight restaurants serving diverse cuisines, including Nigerian specialties, Mexican dishes, Italian foods, and barbecue options throughout the property. Guests can experience flavors from around the world without leaving the grounds.
Guests can navigate the hotel easily thanks to well-organized pathways and clear signage directing through the various buildings and facilities. Staff members speak multiple languages and can assist with directions, reservations, and local travel recommendations.
The property is surrounded by two bodies of water, making it a rare example of a luxury hotel situated on both open ocean and calm lagoon. This unique geographic position offers guests different water experiences in close proximity.
