Eti-Osa, Local government area in Lagos, Nigeria
Eti-Osa is a local government area in Lagos State that spans across several neighborhoods and functions as an administrative subdivision. The region includes three council development areas and serves as home to a substantial residential population.
The area was once part of the national capital jurisdiction before Nigeria relocated its capital to Abuja. This shift reshaped the region's administrative role and development trajectory.
The Awori Yoruba people form the main ethnic group in Eti-Osa, while the area includes communities of Hausa, Igbo, and other Nigerian ethnic populations.
The area is divided into three council development zones, making it easier for visitors to navigate and explore different sections. Each zone has distinct characteristics and can be visited separately depending on your interests.
Research conducted in 2009 identified 75 commercial gardens within Eti-Osa, primarily concentrated in the Ikoyi and Victoria Island sections of the district.
