Schloss Hämelschenburg
Schloss Hämelschenburg, Renaissance castle in Emmerthal, Germany.
The castle features symmetrical towers, ornate gables, and detailed sandstone decorations across its white facade, surrounded by a protective moat.
Built between 1588 and 1613 by Jürgen Klencke and Anna von Holle, the castle survived both the Thirty Years' War and Seven Years' War.
The interior displays collections spanning five centuries, including period furniture, paintings, weapons, porcelain, and glassware from the von Klencke family.
The castle opens daily for guided tours, houses a café in the Knights Hall, and provides facilities for events with capacity up to 180 people.
The estate maintains a working farm, operates a hydroelectric plant, and includes the first Protestant church built in Germany in 1563.
