The complex was built between 2001 and 2003 under a painter's direction to preserve Vietnamese traditions. The project gathered structures and objects from across the country to show these forms of heritage in one location.

The space displays craftsmanship from different ethnic Vietnamese communities through architectural elements and religious objects you encounter while walking around. Visitors can understand how traditional Vietnamese spaces were designed and used for daily life.
