Bustronome, Gourmet restaurant on double-decker bus in 16th arrondissement, Paris, France
Bustronome is a mobile dining room set inside a double-decker bus with a glass ceiling located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Large windows provide unobstructed sightlines of the city and its monuments while guests eat at their tables.
The concept began as an idea to merge the experience of sightseeing with fine dining, creating a new way to discover Paris through food. This innovation changed how visitors could explore the city while enjoying a meal.
The kitchen showcases French culinary traditions through seasonal menus prepared fresh during the journey by professional chefs working onboard. Each dish reflects what is available and in season throughout the year.
Reservations are required for the evening journey which lasts around three hours when the city is illuminated. Arriving on time for check-in is important so the experience starts as scheduled and the planned route is not missed.
Guests receive audio commentary through headphones during the journey that explains the monuments and landmarks passing by outside. This commentary complements the visual experiences while eating at the tables.
